Call for Program Proposals

The Waste Recycling Industry Association Queensland (WRIQ) is pleased to announce the 2026 Future Waste Resources Symposium (FWR 2026), to be held on 18 and 19 March 2026 at the Intercontinental Brisbane.

Following on from FWR 2025, this streamlined event is designed to maintain momentum and foster continued collaboration across Queensland’s waste and recycling sector. It will bring together industry, government, and other key stakeholders to address the most pressing and complex challenges facing Queensland’s waste industry.

Key areas of discussion at the symposium will include collaboration between councils and industry for household waste recycling, regional and metropolitan approaches to municipal solid waste (MSW) recycling rates, feedback for the Queensland Infrastructure Plan, and understanding the systemic complexities that are hindering progress.

By being a part of FWR2026, you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of major discussions and contribute to the advancement of across Queensland’s waste and recycling industry.
